D.A.R.E. BC Society at A Date With Ho 2018

On April 28th, D.A.R.E. BC Society attended “A Date with Ho 2018” at E&E Global Business Center. The fundraising event was hosted and organized by Esther Ho, a business owner for E&E Global and a board member for D.A.R.E. BC.

The evening began with a video introduction of Esther and her life, emphasizing her charitable work. Esther then invited D.A.R.E. BC Society President Mike Yau, Officer Janice, and D.A.R.E. BC’s current Partner Relations Manager (myself!) up to the front to speak about the organization’s mission and strategies to empower the children of BC to choose a drug-free life.

Abby gave an overview of what the organization does and stands for as Mike expanded and translated into Cantonese for the audience. Officer Janice spoke about D.A.R.E.’s keepin’ it Real (kiR) program, giving concrete examples of how students can implement drug prevention and good decision-making strategies into their everyday lives.

The evening concluded with group photos (featuring our mascot Darin Lion!) and Esther promoting and speaking about Across Canada 2018, a charity bike ride which goes across Canada, starting in Victoria and ending in St. John.
