On Tuesday, June 17th, 2025, Garden City Elementary School was alive with excitement and pride as 140 students celebrated their graduation from the D.A.R.E. program. The ceremony, held in the school gymnasium, marked the culmination of ten weeks of learning, growth, and empowerment.
The event was made even more special by the presence of Corporal Phil Wu, Constable Tammy Walker, and Constable Allison Roberts from the Richmond RCMP. Their commitment to youth safety and education was evident throughout the program, with Constable Tammy Walker leading the students through important lessons about the risks of harmful substances and the skills needed to safely navigate challenging situations.

Dickens CHEUNG, one of D.A.R.E. BC’s Directors, was also honoured to attend to show support for these outstanding students and the dedicated educators and officers guiding them.
A highlight of the ceremony was when select students bravely stood before their peers, teachers, and guests to share what they had learned. Their presentations reflected not only a deep understanding of the dangers of drugs and alcohol, but also a genuine enthusiasm for making positive, healthy choices in their lives.

It was truly heartwarming to witness the bright faces and confident voices of our young graduates. Their engagement and eagerness to learn are a testament to the power of early education and community support in building a safer, healthier future for all.
Congratulations to all the Garden City Elementary D.A.R.E. graduates! We are so proud of your dedication and commitment to making good decisions. Thank you to the Richmond RCMP officers, school staff, and families for supporting these incredible students on their journey.
